Hereonenow is dedicated to anyone who is searching for happiness.
The site will record my personal experiences and discoveries as I research various techniques and theories, including Reiki, massage, yoga, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), aromatouch, Buddhism and meditation, talk therapy, travel, exercise, mindfulness practice and psychological studies.
I do not claim to be an expert in any of these fields; as such all posts are my opinions only.
I believe that many of us feel disconnected because we put our energies into the wrong places. We love where we are not loved in return, we work in jobs that don’t inspire us, we try to please others in everything we do. We don’t practice self compassion, or self awareness. We let other people tell us what is best for us, even when our instincts are screaming at us to make different choices.
We all need to set boundaries. It’s ok to make choices that no one else agrees with – even if sometimes we make mistakes. That doesn’t make us stupid or selfish. It just means that we are doing what feels right for us in that moment.
I don’t pretend to know how happiness works, but my instinct is that it has something to do with compassion and empathy. I believe in judging others not by their actions, but by the intentions behind those actions.
Hereonenow means accepting the person you are in this place and at this moment, and knowing that we are all in this together.
